Mirraloke celebrated the 80th Independence Day of the country and the 154th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo with great pride and patriotic fervor on 15th August, 2026. The shrine was decorated with flowers and Alpona creating an atmosphere of unity and national pride. Students, guides and parents gathered at 10:00 AM for the ceremony. The programme began with a prayer which was followed by a few moments of silence seeking blessings from Sri Aurobindo. The National Anthem was sung in unison to commemorate the occasion. To celebrate the spirit of freedom, the students presented two soulful patriotic songs. The melodies reminded us of the sacrifices made and our duty towards the nation. The cultural segment concluded with the recitation of the “Sangachhadhwam” hymn from the Rig Veda which means “Let us move together, let us speak together, let our minds be united. Like the ancient gods who shared their offerings in harmony, may we also live in unity.” This hymn emphasized the message of unity and collective progress — the true foundation of a strong India. The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to our nation and reminded us that freedom is precious and must be cherished through our actions every day.
