The Flower Group students of Mirraloke Learning Community visited the Alipore Zoo as part of an experiential learning activity. The exercise aimed to help students observe selected animals closely and understand their features, characteristics, habitats, and food habits. Armed with notebooks and keen curiosity, the children explored the enclosures of animals like tiger, lion, elephant, giraffe, hippopotamus, leopard, bear, zebra, chimpanzee, kangaroo and some species of deer. They noted details about their physical traits, behaviors, and habitats, accompanied by their guides.

The visit proved to be an exciting way to connect classroom learning with real-life experiences. Watching the animals up close, the students gained a better understanding of biodiversity and ecological balance. The trip will be followed up with various academic activities to reinforce learning. Students will note observations, draw pictures of the animals they observed, and engage in group discussions. These activities will not only deepen their understanding but also transform a simple lesson into a memorable, engaging experience.
